I am 17 weeks today, and I'm not sure if I've felt the baby move yet. Sometimes when I'll lay down it'll feel like somethings turning in my stomach or popping. When did you first feel the baby move and what did it feel like?If I havent felt the baby by now is something wrong?

It sounds like movements to me. Generally, first pregnancies feel movements around week 18-20 (sometimes as early as 16 weeks). So no, there is nothing wrong with you. Some don’t feel it until 22, i’ve even heard as late as 25. Some don’t feel it at all. It depends on where the baby is positioned. If it’s further back then you won’t feel it until it’s a bit bigger. If it’s positioned right up front you may feel it earlier. But if it is movements you’re feeling you’re actually feeling them earlier than the average.
Here’s the thing: when you feel undeniable kicks and movements you’ll KNOW and then you’ll realize "damn. I’ve been feeling this for a week now" lol.
To me it sounds like movements (especially if you don’t fart after then you KNOW it’s not gas lol).
I felt tiny flutters around 16 weeks.. And through out until 21 weeks. They were not very often and I could hardly feel them at all. Then at 21 weeks I felt a super strong kick and have been feeling them since.
There’s no need to worry if you haven’t felt the baby move yet.. It could still be a few more weeks. Everybody’s different.
I’m pregnant with my 5th and I didnt feel him move until I was almost 20 wks along.. And the dr.s say with the more pregnancies you should feel the baby sooner than the one before.. But that didnt happen with me.. They also said I would probably go in earlier too but again I was the opposite.. I had to be induced with my 3rd and 4th.. I went 6 and 9 days over my due date! So no I dont believe anything is wrong, its just you being soo anxious to be able to feel the baby.. It will happen and when it does you will know! I always felt the flutters first and then the movements like if the baby was rolling in my belly! Good Luck and Congrats
Many people don’t begin to feel the baby move until 18-21 weeks (1st pregnancy). I’m in my first pregnancy now, and I felt mine flutter for the first time at 16 weeks (I consider myself lucky) HEHE!!
You are right around the time of where most women feel what’s called the "quickening". Some people say it feels like butterflies in the stomach, others say it feels like something tiny moving around. Some women feel it as early as 14 weeks, others may not feel it until after 20 weeks.
Baby movement should start by 4 months. It will feel really interesting. Its like having this fluttering in your abdomen. I understand it maybe different with different people. It has been mistook for colon problems in those who don’t know they’re pregnant. I don’t see how it can be confused, but that’s me.
Discuss this with your doctor. If baby is not moving, or not moving as much as baby should, you need an ultrasound.
I’m a sonagram tech and I get this question about this all the time. You should start between your 16th and 22nd week of pregnancy. If you have any questions about your baby you should see your obgyn (obstrition) about it.
between 16 and 20 weeks
with my 1st it was around 5 months or so, with my 2nd it was a few days before 12 weeks and now with this one it was between 9 and 10 weeks. Some don’t feel it until later especially for a 1st pregnancy because you don’t really know what your feeling and could pass it off as something else. Some feel it really early depending on body size. This time it took a lot longer to feel movement from outside, I’d say close to 7 months, but with my 1st as soon as I was feeling him moving inside it wasn’t very long after my hubby could feel him moving from outside too
little pops here and there at 15 wks first big kicks started at 18 wks
With this one, I felt him definitively twice at 15 weeks, and then not again until 19 weeks. I didn’t start feeling him fairly regularly until 22-23 weeks. This is because I have an anterior placenta (placenta is out in front, padding, which means the baby has to punch really hard for you to be able to feel it through the placenta – or to kick above or below the placenta). I didn’t find out about the anterior placenta until 21 weeks at an ultrasound.
With my first, I felt him regularly starting at 17.5 weeks along – no anterior placenta – plus he was just a kicker!
16 weeks.i was taking a shower and felt this like hard tap in my uterus.so when i came out after i was finish and tried to put on lotion, stretching and moving to get it on my body it happened again.the my husband said that’s they way of the baby saying you took to long in the shower and while putting on lotion.too much movement for the child within that time frame.after that i would feel movements daily at night time around 7pm until like 12 or 1am.unless the baby can quit moving so i can go to sleep sooner.lol.if i can get to sleep before then, she will wake me up in the middle of the night with constant movement.she was doing it in the ultrasound so much the doctor said this child is anxious to get out the womb.lol.you will know if you have movement, cause it will feel like something you have never felt in your uterus before.this was my first so i knew i didn’t feel that in the beginning of my pregnancy.it was interesting and fun.the kicks or movement get stronger as weeks go by trust me.you will see the difference as time flies by.hope i helped out.
