My son is 16 months old...I'm thinking about starting to potty train him soon. Are boys harder then girls? It took me forever to potty train my girl she didn't get potty trained until she was 4 years old. I started at 2 years old with her, the only thing that worked with her is having her with no underwear for a week. That made her completely potty training in a week time period.

When my daughter started potty training she was 2 years old I let her wear panties like a big girl and told her that princess don’t pee their panties and she always ran to the bathroom and started to use the bathroom because she said that im a princess and they don’t pee their pants.. My son was different daddy just show him how to do it and he thought it was the funniest thing he ever seen and he like doing it. The difference is boys are easier because they don’t half to wipe and it is easier to show them how to do it.

If you wait until your child shows all the signs of being ready to potty train it’s going to go a lot smoother. I think 16 months is far too young, does he tell you when he goes? Does he know how to pull his own pants up and down? If he can’t do both of those things he’s definitely not ready. To be successful the child needs to have complete comprehension of the need to go and the ability to tell you.
But as for boys v girls. I choose girls being easier.
